TestoPrime Review: For Sex Drive, Strength, Energy and More

Last modified on October 19th, 2023

Among the biggest questions we tend to hear from readers are how to improve testosterone and build muscle. There are so many supplements that promise to be natural testosterone boosters, yet you’ve probably been disappointed with a lot of what you tried. One of the more popular options on the market right now is TestoPrime. So how does it stack up against the competition? We did a deep dive to help you understand the pbenefits and potential risks of this supposed natural testosterone booster, so you don’t waste your money before you make a buying decision.

What Is TestoPrime?

TestoPrime is an all-natural way to support your body’s natural testosterone production. The benefits, according to the company making the product, include:

  • Helps increase mental and physical energy
  • Supports protein synthesis, which can then burn fat and help you build lean muscle
  • Improves motivation, confidence, and mood

Low testosterone is something increasingly impacting men’s lives, especially because of our modern lifestyles. Inevitably, our diet and the way we all live have the potential to disrupt hormones. For women, this tends to mean our estrogen isn’t in balance, and for men, drops in testosterone are all too common. This can even be the case for younger men.

When men have low testosterone, it can lead to erectile dysfunction and affect sleep and mood. It can reduce sex drive, and in both males and females, low testosterone decreases bone mass.

As people age, their testosterone levels can naturally decline, but this seems to be happening earlier and earlier in men.

Specific symptoms of low testosterone include:

  • Reduced muscle mass and significant loss of muscle mass.
  • Reduced bone mass can lead to fractures.
  • Lower sex drive.
  • Low energy and fatigue, even after getting enough rest.
  • Less interest in movement or exercise.
  • Increases in body fat.
  • Gynecomastia, which causes breast enlargement.
  • Hair loss.
  • Problems with erections since testosterone stimulates the penile tissue to make nitric oxide. That then begins many of the reactions that lead to an erection.
  • Reduced testicle size and a softer-than-usual scrotum.
  • Lower semen levels and fertility problems.
  • Problems falling asleep or staying asleep.
  • Depression, irritability, and lack of focus.

Interestingly women can also have low testosterone, which causes symptoms like hot flashes, irregular menstrual periods, vaginal dryness, and anemia.

Why Are Testosterone Levels Decreasing?

Studies show that testosterone levels, which are age-specific, in men have been slowly but consistently declining for decades. Researchers say this is alarming from an evolutionary perspective.

Normally, levels drop as you age. After 30, the average drop is around 1%. Research is now showing decreases not related to aging when comparing people of the same age but in different years. For example, researchers might compare a 45-year-old male’s testosterone levels in 1987, 1995, and 2002.

Testosterone levels that are consistently lower than expected often stem from lifestyle factors, chronic health conditions, and especially excess weight.

Researchers say that the speeding up of the loss of testosterone compared to other generations is likely linked to the general decline in health status overall.

  • For example, the lower levels coincide with elevated body mass indexes or BMI. A higher BMI puts more stress on the body and affects testosterone production and natural distribution.
  • Physical activity, or a lack thereof, is also part of what’s happening. If you lift weights, you’re going to lift your testosterone levels. High-intensity interval training can also boost testosterone immediately. If you aren’t exercising, you don’t get the boost.
  • Your diet impacts testosterone production, and alcohol is also affecting levels. Chronic or excessive alcohol use decreases the production of testosterone.
  • Levels of testosterone are usually highest in the morning following restful sleep, If your sleep cycle is disrupted, so is your normal production of testosterone.
  • We all are coming in nearly constant contact with chemicals that are endocrine disruptors, and these environmental toxins are associated with effects on hormones, including testosterone.

How Does TestoPrime Work, and What Are the Ingredients?

When we’re reviewing any supplement, our biggest focus isn’t on customer reviews, although we study these too. We like to focus on the ingredients and what independent reviews say about each. This is often the best way to determine if something is going to work well and be right for you.

Before getting into the ingredients, some of the ways this supplement might work include:

  • Inhibiting cortisol production. Cortisol is the so-called stress hormone. Reducing your cortisol production makes it easier for your body to let go of excess weight, especially around the middle.
  • The ingredients may promote more efficient fat burning and convert more fat into energy.
  • Ingredients in TestoPrime are designed to increase VO2 max levels naturally. That’s your oxygen consumption. This, in turn, can help support nitric oxide production for more energy.
  • The lineup of ingredients in this natural testosterone booster might help improve your blood flow, giving you more energy and muscle strength for better outcomes during your workouts.

Okay, now onto the ingredients:

  • D-aspartic acid is a natural amino acid that helps support your Luteinizing Hormone (LH) production. That can then increase testosterone levels.
  • Panax ginseng has been used in traditional Eastern medicine for thousands of years. It’s an antioxidant that can boost energy levels, combat fatigue, and support a healthy sex drive.
  • KSM 66 ashwagandha is one of our favorite overall ingredients for any product. Ashwagandha can support testosterone levels, and also energy, weight loss, digestion, and your cognitive ability. It’s also excellent for reducing stress and anxiety. The KSM 66 version of ashwagandha contains all the components of the plant, and it’s arguably the best way to take ashwagandha.
  • Fenugreek has also been used for thousands of years as a libido booster, and it can improve energy, stamina, and sexual function, as well as speeding up your metabolism to help you lose fat more quickly.
  • Green tea extract with EGCG can prevent reductions in testosterone because it blocks the breakdown of testosterone in DHT, which is considered harmful.
  • Pomegranate extract has antioxidants that can increase blood flow, increasing stamina, and sex drive. It may also help reduce feelings of fatigue.
  • Vitamin D helps improve mood, metabolism, and the immune system. The fat-soluble vitamin can also improve existing testosterone levels.
  • Zinc is one of the main nutrients that’s important for testosterone levels. Zinc can be carried into the cells by the EGCG that TestoPrime contains, where it can then slow the natural conversion of testosterone into estradiol. Estradiol is a form of estrogen. This gives you more free testosterone.
  • Vitamin B6 supports not only healthy testosterone levels, but also reduces fatigue and it’s good for mood and cognitive function.
  • Vitamin B5 helps convert fat into energy and supports testosterone levels naturally.
  • Garlic extract can support testosterone levels, and also help with weight loss and metabolism.
  • Black pepper helps you absorb all of the ingredients in this testosterone booster better. In fact, adding black pepper extract as piperine can improve ingredient absorption by as much as 30%.

What Do Customer Reviews Say?

I went to one of the best sources of customer reviews for TestoPrime—Reddit. According to a lot of reviews, taking this supplement has helped with fatigue and energy levels, and it does give them the boost they need to work out more often. At the same time, there are also a lot of reviews that say the product doesn’t work at all, even after using it for six months or more.

What Are the Pros and Cons of TestoPrime?

The pros of this supplement include:

  • The ingredients are well-studied and supported by research.
  • It can fill in nutritional gaps similar to a multivitamin.
  • Ingredients are natural
  • Could get to the root, underlying cause of low testosterone

The cons of the supplement are:

  • It’s a blend of ingredients, so there might be smaller amounts than what’s needed to see real benefits.
  • There aren’t a lot of great reviews from customers.
  • It’s not going to work well for someone with very low testosterone levels.

Our Final Verdict

We don’t love TestoPrime, but we don’t hate it either. It could help fill in nutritional deficiencies and gaps that are leading to low testosterone, and it also has some ingredients that could be beneficial for mood and energy levels. We like most of the ingredients included in the supplement.

Our biggest problem is that first, it’s a blend of ingredients, so it might not be potent enough for some people. Our second problem is that if you have very low testosterone, any kind of natural booster like this is unlikely to give you the results you want. It can also take time to see the benefits of a natural testosterone booster.

We do like that it can get to some of those underlying factors contributing to low testosterone, like zinc and B vitamin deficiency.

We couldn’t find any information to indicate that it’s unsafe or not worth trying if your testosterone levels are on the low end of normal, but it’s also not likely to be a miracle supplement, so manage your expectations if you’re trying it.
