There are a few different Keto Fit supplements you’ll find on Amazon. One of the most popular is called Pure Keto Fit from Justified Laboratories. In this guide, we’re primarily covering this supplement, but we’ll also go over a few of the other products that go by this name. All of these supplements are similar in what they’re supposed to do, which is provide exogenous ketosis.
They’re also known as BHB supplements, so if you aren’t familiar, we’ll give you a rundown on these supplements, including whether they’re safe and effective.
Exogenous Ketone Supplements
The Pure Keto Fit supplement from Justified Laboratories claims to be a proprietary blend of something called goBHB. It has apple cider vinegar, macadamia nut oil, and green tea leaf.
The makers of the supplement claim that if you take this BHB supplement, you’ll enter ketosis easier and stay there. According to the company, including apple cider vinegar and macadamia nut oil helps you safely transition to ketosis more effectively.
Each bottle from Justified Laboratories contains 60 vegetable capsules, a 30-day supply.
According to the instructions, you should take the supplement 20 to 30 minutes before a meal with an eight-ounce glass of water.
What is Ketosis?
If you’re new to the keto diet, you might think you can take Keto Fit and be in ketosis, and it’s not that simple.
Ketosis is a metabolic state where your body produces something called ketones and uses those ketones for energy instead of carbs. On the keto diet, the goal is to get your body into a state of ketosis by following a high-fat, low-carb diet.
People often lose weight and sometimes significant amounts when they follow a keto diet. You might even notice weight loss happening quickly because ketosis reduces your body’s water and glycogen stores.
Over the long term, you might notice you have a reduced appetite as a result of ketosis.
The following are some of the key things to know about ketosis. Understanding these facts is important before you invest in a supplement like this.
- When you’re in the metabolic state of ketosis, there’s a high concentration of ketones in your blood. This happens when fat is fueling your body rather than glucose.
- To be in ketosis, you usually need to eat fewer than 50 grams of carbs daily, and some people need as little as 20 grams of carbs daily.
- When you’re limiting your carbs, your insulin levels go down, and your body’s fat stores release fatty acids in large amounts.
- These fatty acids move to the liver, turning them into ketones to provide energy for your body.
- Interestingly, ketones can also cross the blood-brain barrier to fuel your brain.
- There is a potentially wide range of benefits of ketosis. For example, there’s some evidence that helping with weight loss can also help with conditions like epilepsy and neurodegenerative disorders. It may help with type 2 diabetes, PCOS, and heart disease.
Eating anywhere from 20 to 50 grams of carbs a day would probably take two to four days to enter ketosis, which can take longer for some people. The length of time it takes you to reach ketosis depends on your fat and protein intake, your metabolism, your age, and how much you exercise.
If you ate a very high-carb diet before beginning a keto diet, it could take longer to enter ketosis, for example.
When you transition to ketosis, you might notice symptoms referred to as the keto flu. These symptoms can include bad breath, increased thirst, fatigue, nausea, and headaches.
You can measure your ketones in different ways.
For example, cheap strips use urine to give you a general idea of your ketone level. There are also breath meters and blood ketone meters.
Some of the ways you can get into ketosis faster include:
- Limit your carbs as much as possible. The aim is to have no more than 50 grams of carbs daily, but the lower you can go, the better for ketosis. You should track your carb intake because most tend to underestimate it.
- Don’t eat at restaurants because tracking how many carbs you’re consuming is harder.
- Be aware that there are often carbs in hidden sources like condiments and sauces.
- Eat plenty of high-quality fats such as nuts, nut butter, coconut oil, meats, eggs, and fish like salmon.
- Intermittent fasting can help you get into ketosis.
- Using an MCT supplement may help. MCT is fat easily absorbed by the body and then transformed into ketones.
- Exercise can help deplete glycogen stores and help your body produce more ketones.
What is Keto Fit?
All of this brings us back to Keto Fit. This supplement claims that by using it, you can get into ketosis faster. The supplement makers also say that by using the supplement, you’ll see less fatigue during your workouts, improve your mental clarity, reduce brain fog, and improve your focus.
How much of that is true?
It can be classified as an exogenous ketone supplement.
Exogenous keto supplements claim to give you the benefits of a keto diet and boost the effects without you having to limit your carbs.
You might, for example, want to fall off your low-carb, high-fat diet for a treat. Theoretically, using a supplement you could take a couple of capsules and then stay in ketosis.
Exogenous means created externally, and Keto Fit and other exogenous supplements are types of ketone beta-hydroxybutyrate or BHB.
Exogeneous ketone supplements could, based on claims, raise your blood level of ketones so you can stay in ketosis even after eating something higher in carbs. You might also use a BHB supplement to get into ketosis faster after starting a keto diet.
Three main types of ketone supplements fall into the larger category of BHB supplements.
There are ketone esters, which contain a BHB molecule bound to an alcohol molecule. Ketone esters can raise your ketones, but they’re expensive, don’t taste great, and are a relatively new product, so there’s a lot we don’t know about them.
Ketone salts are bound to a mineral, and these cause digestive symptoms in some people.
There are raspberry ketones as well, which, as far as we know now, don’t do anything to raise your ketone levels.

Does Keto Fit Work?
The big question is, do Keto Fit and other BHB supplements work?
The answer is that it depends.
If you eat a diet heavy in carbs, you’re not going to get magic or overnight results from a supplement like this one.
There’s the misconception that the presence of ketones means you’ll automatically burn fat, and that’s not the case.
However, this doesn’t mean that a BHB supplement isn’t entirely without benefits if you manage your expectations.
Experts recommend that you only view a supplement like Keto Fit as a supplement to the keto diet. It can help you along the way if you’re following a keto diet, but you still have to do the tough stuff to see the benefits and results.
For example, taking a keto supplement might help reduce your appetite, which can indirectly help you lose weight.
A study of 15 people who had a ketone beverage experienced 50% less hunger after an overnight fast than a group that had a sugary beverage. If you’ve had a meal beforehand, a ketone supplement might not reduce your appetite as much.
As was touched on, BHB is one specific type of ketone. When you have higher levels of BHB ketones, your hunger tends to be in the background rather than the foreground, which lets you focus on other things besides hunger.
A study found that having certain keto supplements may reduce blood sugar too.
The big takeaway with Keto Fit and other BHB and keto supplements is that they will be ineffective if you aren’t following a keto diet.
What Do Reviews Say?
Again, we looked specifically at the Keto Fit formula from Justified Laboratories. The Justified Laboratories supplement only has an average of 3.5 stars out of nearly 800 ratings on Amazon. We weren’t impressed by this.
Many reviewers said it made them feel sick, and most reviews didn’t feel like it’s an effective supplement, at least in terms of weight loss.
With that being said, there are some positive reviews. For example, one reviewer said that taking Keto Fit helped her get into ketosis faster—in two days—although she was actively following a keto diet and lifestyle.
Besides ketosis and weight loss, some people who like the supplement say they feel Keto Fit improves their energy levels.
Are There Risks and Side Effects?
So, while taking exogenous supplements can help someone who’s already following a keto lifestyle, are there downsides?
Some studies have found that supplements like Keto Fit don’t boost ketosis and can cause side effects like stomach pain and nausea.
Also, more ketones aren’t necessarily a good thing when taking them in supplement form. Using a ketone supplement can raise the level of acid in your blood, making it harder for your body to break down fat.
Ketones also contain calories, and another big issue for many people is that they’re expensive.
You could be better off putting your money toward healthy, keto-friendly foods as opposed to trying to take a shortcut with keto supplements.
Also, a big issue with Keto Fit, in particular, is that we couldn’t find exactly what’s in it. The ingredient label says it’s made with a proprietary blend, so it’s tough to evaluate the product fully without knowing what’s in it.
Some other products on Amazon go by a similar name, and the idea is the same behind all of them.
For example, there’s Platinum Fit Keto.
Platinum Fit Keto is similar in name and function to Keto Fit. Platinum Fit Keto is from the Advance Custom Labs company, and it contains BHB to support ketosis and boost your energy levels theoretically. Platinum Fit Keto doesn’t have some extra ingredients in Keto Fit, like apple cider vinegar.
Platinum Fit Keto has reviews similar to Keto Fit, which are pretty mixed. Many people say they used Platinum Fit Keto and got no results, while others say it helped them lose weight.
While there are some good reviews of Platinum Fit Keto, most aren’t good.
Another similar product is Keto Fit Pro, billed as an “advanced ketosis weight loss” supplement.
It’s a BHB supplement that, based on claims, can help your body release stored fat. With an average of three stars on the ratings, we don’t see much promise in this product either.
Finally, there’s also a product called Keto Fit Advanced Formula. Keto Fit Advanced Formula is also a BHB exogenous ketones supplement with mixed reviews and a fair amount of negative ones.
In our honest opinion, exogenous ketones generally aren’t worth the money. There is some evidence, primarily in animal studies, that exogenous ketone supplements like Keto Fit, Platinum Fit Keto, Keto Fit Pro, and Keto Fit Advanced Formula could raise your blood level of ketones. Still, they can’t overcome a diet high in carbs.
There’s also not a lot of evidence that raising your level of BHB ketones that it’s going to help you lose weight.
Some people look to products like BHB supplements and Platinum Fit Keto as a fast way to get the benefits of a keto diet, and it’s probably not going to work.
The only way you might benefit from these products is if you already follow a strict keto diet and want a little extra boost toward ketosis. Otherwise, save your money.
Follow a low-carb, high-fat diet, exercise when you can, and make sure you’re getting electrolytes from whole food sources like potassium and bone broth, and you’ll be better off than buying quick-fix solutions that don’t work and may even have negative side effects.
