Night Shred Review: Should You Try This Sleep Aid-Fat Burner Combination?

Last modified on June 22nd, 2023

Night Shred is a supplement from Inno Supps that promises to help you both fall asleep and stay asleep and burn fat while doing it. It sounds like it could be too good to be true, so we explore everything you should know below, including what customer Night Shred reviews say.

What is Night Shred?

Night Shred is from Inno Supps, and it’s a night-time fat burner. That means that theoretically, when you take it, your body is being prepared, with the supplement, to burn more fat faster. Also, taking Night Shred before bed should help you relax and get into REM sleep easier.

  • More fat-burning
  • Restful sleep
  • Relaxation
  • Gluten, lactose, and soy-free
  • Vegan-friendly

Night Shred Ingredients

Below, we break down the specific ingredients that are in Night Shred, giving you an overview of each and its possible benefits.

Magnesium

Magnesium is, in our opinion, one of the most important minerals, and it plays an essential role in your brain and body’s health.

Magnesium plays a role in hundreds of reactions in your body, including energy creation, the formation of protein from amino acids, creating and repairing DNA and RNA, and the contraction and relaxation of your muscles.

Magnesium also helps regulate your nervous system, including your neurotransmitters, which send messages throughout your brain and body. Around 50% of people in the U.S. get less than the recommended amount of magnesium daily.

Low magnesium levels are linked to depression and anxiety, and even migraines.

Magnesium can help you sleep better because it helps your brain and body relax. It activates the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for creating a sense of calm and relaxation.

Night-Time Recovery Complex

The Night-Time Recovery Complex, which is listed as an ingredient, includes GABA, chamomile, passionflower, and valerian root powder.

Each of these herbal ingredients can help promote rest and relaxation.

These ingredients are also included in the formulation to help promote better muscle recovery, so you’re not only rested but ready to power through a tough workout the next day.

Restful sleep helps your muscles heal after a workout, reducing soreness and damage from intense exercise.

More specific benefits of the Night-Time Recovery Complex include:

  • GABA is a naturally-occurring neurotransmitter that serves as a neurotransmitter in your brain. GABA is considered an inhibiting neurotransmitter because it slows down your brain and central nervous system activity, helping you relax. GABA is a calming supplement.
  • Chamomile has many health benefits, promoting sleep and relaxation. For example, it may reduce inflammation, it can help slow or prevent osteoporosis, and it’s good for reducing blood sugar.
  • Passionflower is used to help with anxiety, insomnia, and other sleep disorders. Even some research shows that passionflower may be helpful for the symptoms of drug withdrawal.
  • Valerian is often called nature’s valium. It’s been used throughout history to promote a sense of calm and improve sleep. Specifically, valerian is thought to interact with GABA. Valerian can reduce the breakdown of GABA in the brain, helping you feel calmer. This is similar to how medicines like Xanax and Valium work.

Natural Adaptogen Compound

Another ingredient in Night Shred is described as the “natural adaptogen compound.”

It’s 200 milligrams of ashwagandha, which is one of our favorite herbal supplements.

An adaptogen like ashwagandha is considered a type of herbal pharmaceutical.

Adaptogens help your body respond to physical or mental stress in a healthy way.

People use adaptogens to help with depression and anxiety, to reduce fatigue, and to improve their mental performance.

When your body is better able to deal with stress, you’ll release less cortisol.

Too much cortisol, released in response to extreme or chronic stress, can lead to weight gain. Adaptogens can help reduce stress-induced weight gain.

Specifically, ashwagandha has been used for thousands of years to reduce stress, increase energy and improve concentration.

You can also take it to help you sleep, which may sound counterintuitive since it increases energy.

However, it helps reset your circadian rhythm. It’s like a modulator of your sleep system, helping balance everything out.

PM Fat Burning Complex

The next set of ingredients in Night Shred is called the PM Fat Burning Complex.

It includes Grains of Paradise extract, LA, and L-Carnitine.

Grains of Paradise extract come from seeds. People use Grains of Paradise for obesity and heart disease.

Grains of Paradise seed also appear to reduce inflammation, burn body fat, and kill some types of bacteria.

CLA is in the PM Fat Burning Complex and stands for conjugated linoleic acid, which is an omega-6 fatty acid. It naturally occurs in meat and dairy.

CLA has been shown effective at helping reduce body fat without lowering lean muscle mass.

There’s also some evidence CLA has other benefits. For example, it may strengthen the immune system and help with blood sugar control.

CLA is sometimes used to help with bone strength and may help heart health because it could prevent plaque accumulation in the arteries.

L-carnitine is an amino acid often taken as a supplement.

It can help with weight loss and potentially impacts the brain as well.

For example, some studies in animals have found L-carnitine may reverse brain decline in people with Alzheimer’s and other brain diseases.

Some forms of L-carnitine can help reduce blood pressure and improve heart health.

Mood Enhancement Complex

Listed as a mood enhancement complex in Night Shred are two ingredients.

These are 5-HTP and L-tryptophan.

5-HTP is an amino acid your body produces from the amino acid tryptophan.

It can also boost serotonin and melatonin levels, helping reduce feelings and depression or anxiety.

L-tryptophan is an essential amino acid that helps your body make protein as well as serotonin. Serotonin plays a role in sleep and mood.

Low L-tryptophan levels have been linked with depression, other mental health disorders, and premenstrual dysphoric disorder.

Melatonin

A dose of Night Shred from Inno Supps contains 3 milligrams of melatonin.

Melatonin is a natural sleep aid that may also have other potential health benefits. Your body naturally produces the hormone melatonin, but you can take it as a supplement to regulate your natural sleep cycle.

Melatonin may help reduce symptoms of seasonal depression and increase levels of human growth hormone (HGH).

Having higher levels of HGH can boost bone strength and muscle mass.

What Are the Benefits?

Some of the possible benefits of this supplement include:

  • The ingredients may help boost your metabolism and burn fat while you sleep. For example, Grains of Paradise extract may substantially raise your metabolism.
  • Night Shred is an appetite suppressant, so you can reduce late-night cravings that might otherwise derail your weight loss.
  • Each serving of Night Shred contains ingredients to help you deeply relax naturally. These ingredients, like ashwagandha, may also lower cortisol levels. Cortisol is known as a fat-storing hormone.
  • The formulation is intended to help you fall asleep quickly and deeply, but you shouldn’t have a groggy feeling in the morning because it’s not a sedative.
  • Many of the ingredients promote a positive mood or mood regulation, such as 5-HTP.

What Do Night Shred Reviews Say?

On Amazon, Night Shred from Inno Supps has an average rating of 4.3 out of 5 stars. Sixty-seven percent of reviews are 5-star, and 15% are 4-star. However, 6% of reviews are 1-star, which is something to be aware of.

As far as the positive reviews, many people say Night Shred helps them get a great night’s sleep.

A lot of reviews say that it’s helped establish normal, healthy sleep patterns without grogginess or that “hangover” feeling the next morning.

Some users say that they feel calmer and happier when using Night Shred, and there are also reviews that say this helps people have better workouts.

Users say when taking Night Shred, they’ve noticed less fat storage around their middle and a reduced appetite in the morning when they wake up.

In particular, based on reviews, users seem to get the best outcomes when they combine the supplement with clean eating and regular workouts.

Based on reviews, rather than launching weight loss, Night Shred helps support weight loss.

A lot of users say that while Night Shred helps them relax at night, the morning after they take it, they feel more energized.

So what about the negative reviews?

Some people didn’t feel like it worked because they didn’t lose weight. Some people found that it caused night sweats, and another common complaint is bad dreams when taking Night Shred.

Are There Any Side Effects?

First and foremost, check with your doctor before you take Night Shred.

You’ll need to review the ingredients and ensure it’s okay for you to take them. Everyone is different, so it’s tough to say how you might react to certain ingredients.

For example, we love ashwagandha as a supplement, but there are groups of people who are advised against taking it, including people with blood pressure issues, thyroid disorders, or autoimmune diseases.

With the melatonin included in Night Shred, some of the possible side effects can include nausea, headache, or dizziness.

You should also potentially avoid melatonin if you take blood thinners, diabetes drugs, or immune suppressants.

While everyone is again different overall, based on Night Shred reviews, we didn’t see any major reported side effects from users.

As mentioned above, a few people said they had night sweats, and some felt it actually had the opposite of the intended effect and made it harder for them to fall asleep.

Strange or vivid dreams were another side effect we noticed in a few customer reviews.

The InnoSupps Company

InnoSupps is a popular supplement company with a good reputation. All of their produces are free from sucralose, artificial sweeteners and fillers. Their products are manufactured in GMP-certified facilities, and their suppliers and manufacturers are US-based.

Where Can You Buy Night Shred?

You can buy Night Shred on Amazon, which is our preference.

Prime Shipping is available on Amazon, and the Subscribe & Save option is available with this product. The price on Amazon currently, for Night Shred is less than $45, but that could change.

You can also buy Night Shred from GNC, but we couldn’t find it in stores, at least not near our location.

You’d have to order it online, and the price is the same as Amazon, without the Prime Shipping benefit.

Should You Try It?

We’re impressed with a few key things about Night Shred.

First, the ingredients are well-researched and well-understood and may have significant benefits in helping boost your metabolism and mood.

The reviews are also largely positive, and many people find that it helps them sleep and also helps them lose weight.

The side effects, at least what we could find reported, seem minimal.

The downsides are the price because it seems to be an expensive supplement and it doesn’t seem to work well for everyone.

Overall, if your doctor gives you the go-ahead, we do like the Night Shred supplement and think the pros outweigh the cons.

Final Thoughts

We like the idea of a combination sleep aid and fat burner. The ingredients are some of our favorites on an individual basis, like 5-HTP and ashwagandha.

There are also a lot of great reviews for Night Shred. It’s an interesting concept and maybe worth trying, if you get the go-ahead from your health care provider.
